USA are on the search for a new head coach having parted company with their head coach of almost six years, Ric Suggitt.
Suggitt's contract was due to expire in December and he leaves just under a year to go to the Olympics in Rio which the USA have qualififed for and with the Women’s World Sevens Series kicking off in Dubai in December.
Given the proximty of Dubai, Suggitt, a popular figure on the circuit, has left immediately and the USA are set to appoint a new coach imminently.
“I would like to thank Ric for his hard work and commitment to developing the women’s full time program at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California” said USA Rugby CEO Nigel Melville. “It was not an easy decision to make a change but we have to become increasingly competitive against the top-three nations in the world in order to win a medal in Rio and any changes that we need to make have to be made now, not in 2016.”
